MGK is a disgrace to punk and music
The lyrics are horrible. The instrumentals are limp.
But here’s the worst part to me.
It’s the most blatant pandering I’ve ever heard. It’s the culmination of corporatised “pop punk” and greed, using tired tropes and “rebellion” as a vehicle.
Just because people say you’re shit doesn’t make you punk.
(Edit: it’s cool that this is a post spawning alot of discourse. To the people who say “don’t listen to it”, I don’t. Where I take up issue is that it’s so popular and I don’t think it should be. He’s a monument to image, advertisment, and marketing and nothing more.)
